John Hovey
John Hovey is a multi-disciplined business professional with decades of technical experience and a passion for embracing next-generation innovations.
After graduating from Algonquin College’s School of Advanced Technology as an electronic technologist, John began his career at Bell Canada. He later became the first employee hired by Ricoh Company Ltd., an international leader in the document management and image communication industry, when it expanded its operations into Canada.
After working at Ricoh for 16 years, John took on a management position overseeing software development programmers, launched a video production company and eventually ventured into the digital lighting business as a consultant.
In 2016, John co-founded JSB Lighting Solutions, inspired by the opportunity to help commercial customers improve their lighting performance while significantly reducing energy consumption and costs.
In 2020, John co-founded JSB Distributors to help make UV-C (ultraviolet) pathogen control technologies available to Canadians. These air and surface treatment systems are backed by years of research, testing and third party validation studies in the U.S. and Canada.
From wiring houses and taking cars apart, to designing electrical circuits and writing software programs, John’s technical know-how is a tremendous asset to JSB Lighting Solutions and JSB Distributors.

Sandy Hovey
Sandy Hovey is a top tier sales professional whose primary focus on delivering solutions—above and beyond selling products and services—has earned her repeat record sales results and a strong network of B2B relationships.
After graduating from Algonquin College with a degree in data processing and computer programming, Sandy pursued business and sales opportunities in computerized typesetting, software development, data protection, online services, and document management systems.
In 2012, she ventured into the lighting industry to continue her work in business and sales. Her knowledge about the industry and excitement about how many clients it could help grew to such an extent that she decided to co-found JSB Lighting Solutions in 2016.
With JSB, Sandy has been focused is on ensuring her customers benefit from a personalized, customized lighting solution that maximizes efficiency and return on investment.
In 2020, Sandy co-founded JSB Distributors after discovering a new passion: UV-C (ultraviolet) and its power to eliminate viral, bacterial and fungal pathogens in the air and on high-touch surfaces. The UV Angel product line is now available in Canada.
